Cancer

The abnormal growth of cells.

Capillary

The smallest type of blood vessel where gas and nutrient exchange occurs between blood and tissues.

Carcinogen

A substance known to cause cancer.

Cardiac Enzymes

Proteins released into the blood when the heart muscle is damaged, often used to diagnose heart attacks.

Cardiac Monitor

A device that continuously tracks the electrical activity of the heart.

Cardiac Output

The amount of blood the heart pumps in one minute.

Cardiac Stress Test

A test that measures the heart’s ability to respond to external stress, often exercise or medication-induced.

Cardiac Transplant

Surgical replacement of a diseased heart with a healthy donor heart.

Cardiomegaly

Enlargement of the heart, often due to high blood pressure or heart disease.

Cardiomyopathy

A disease of the heart muscle that affects its size, shape, or structure, impairing function.
